Born in Switzerland, Dan immigrated to Sydney in 1988. He earned a Bachelor of Technology in Aviation while simultaneously earning his pilot’s license in 2000. He built extensive flight experience in a variety of aircraft across Northern Australia before becoming a Boeing 737 Captain in 2008. As Director and Co-founder of Airborne, Dan oversees operations, crew management, and charter approvals for our fleet of aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. His expertise bridges the worlds of commercial and private aviation, bringing airline-level safety and professionalism to Airborne operations.
Gus McKendrick
Founder, Director, and Pilot

With over 25 years in the aviation industry, Gus has flown a wide array of aircraft ranging from the De Havilland Tiger Moth to the Boeing 777. Originally an engineer in the maritime sector, he transitioned to aviation at the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia in 1999. His experience spans charter operations, FIFO transport, and professional flight instruction. In 2019, he co-founded Airborne to bring airline-level safety and operational excellence to private aircraft management. Today Gus specialises in the Pilatus PC-12 NG and NGX, ensuring exceptional service with a focus on safety, reliability, and precision.
Russell Bramley
Director and Pilot

Russell began his career in economics before pursuing aviation full-time, earning his Commercial Pilot Licence in 2002. Russell's experience ranges from General Aviation flights across Australia to international airline operations based out of Hong Kong and the USA. He has heavy-jet experience the A340, A330, A350, and Boeing 747, including the 747-8 and Dreamlifter. Russell holds CASA, Hong Kong, and FAA airline transport licenses. His experience brings deep expertise in Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Safety Management Systems (SMS), combining top-tier airline safety and proficiency standards with operational excellence.
